Poetry Street & Royal Neighbors

The Poetry Street Project is a literary and arts publication featuring creative works by people who have experienced homelessness.  Currently this consists of people currently living in the greater Quad Cities area.  Our second issue is expected to be available by mid-September 2009.

Royal Neighbors of America Chapter 20039 is the supporting non-profit organization formed for the purposes of funding the Poetry Street Project.  Since then, RNA 20039 has expanded its purposes and projects to include: collecting and making donations to area homeless shelters; collecting and helping to raise funds for the Heat Native America Fund (providing wood stoves and winter clothing for Native Americans on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota); participating in the annual Unity Fest in Davenport, Iowa; conducting fund-raising by recycling or selling "green" or gardening-related items; and supporting other causes as chapter members decide.
